The White and Gold Bride: Karen

Meet Karen, one of our absolutely gorgeous brides, who got married on a summer’s day in Seafield Hotel In Wexford. Karen and I met virtually during lockdown. After a few minutes of chatting with Karen I got her wedding vibes (modern and simple) and had a few suggestions for her to try at home. I also got that it wasn’t going to be a quick call, we had so much in common! Karen is an amazing make-up artist and has been behind the scenes at many a wedding – she definitely knew her bridal style! Karen chose Tyler by Prea James for her wedding day. Tyler is such a showstopper of a dress! We love the luxe, buttery soft, silk satin and the bold statement cut-outs. Karen styled her Tyler dress up so perfectly and we have asked Karen some questions below about her wedding style, how she knew her dress was the one for her and if she has any advice for other brides-to-be.

Karen, we love your dress choice… obviously! Was it the style you set out looking for or were you surprised with your choice?

I chose it with the help of yourself, I was confused but your knowledge really helped me make the decision. It was during lockdown so your help was invaluable. (Karen was actually between 2 dresses in The White & Gold and Tyler was so obviously her dress – that figure had to be shown off like that! )

The Tyler Skirt & Top are one of our absolute favs! We love it for it’s clean lines and contemporary vibes. How did you accessorise your dress? Tell us all the jewellery and shoe details!

I bought my beautiful Pearl Loeffler Randall shoes with you. They were beyond comfy and so pretty. I wore a minimal gold chain and earrings. I wore a handmade porcelin headpiece and a long statement veil from The White & Gold also.

Any underwear tips for our brides to be?

I wore Spanx Thinstincts. With that fitted silk dress no seams were an absolute must!

Any special moments you treasure from the day?

Walking down the aisle after we were just married, it was the best feeling in the world!

If you could give brides-to-be one piece of solid advice?

Always try the wildcard! Choose places with a stylist like Sorcha, someone who has a huge understanding of fashion and who understands how to dress different body shapes. It can get a bit overwhelming otherwise.

Who did your hair, make up and photography?

I did my own make up. (You can see Karen’s make -up page here)

Sarah Condon did my hair and In Love Photography was our photographer.

How did you find your experience at The White and Gold?

I would say it was the nicest experience I’ve ever had in a bridal shop. Sorcha is so warm and welcoming and really knows her stuff. You leave feeling like you’ve made a friend. X

Aww, thanks Karen – I absolutely loved meeting and getting to know you and am so honoured to have been  a small part of your special day. Thank you for choosing your dress and accessories with us, we love having you as one of our effortlessly cool W&G brides. I am really looking forward to that coffee date with my new friend
