The White & Gold Bride - Aine
We adored hearing all about Aine's wedding that took place in the beautiful Faithlegg House Hotel, Waterford on the 24th May 2024. Aine wore the amazing Fairmont Dress by one of our favourite designers, Jane Hill. Aine filled us in on the special day and shared the most amazing photos with us!
We love your dress choice (obviously!) Was it the style you set out looking for or were you surprised with your choice?
I’d set off with an open mind but also knew I liked and what suited my body shape best. We all drew a picture beforehand of what we thought I’d get, and my drawing matched my dress exactly!
When did you know it was the dress for you?
When I tried it on the fit was just dreamy, especially the paneling in the waist, Sorcha knew I wanted sleeves and when she brought out the Pippa sleeves it just all came together. I decided to sleep on it, not wanting to act on a whim but had sent a message by the next morning and came back 5 days later to say YES!
Who did you bring to your bridal appointment? Did they help you decide on your dress?
My mam and my two sisters/bridesmaids came along so there were seriously honest opinions exchanged. We adored every dress I tried on in TW&G but they knew when I tried on the Jane Hill Fairmont that I was so happy, couldn’t believe it was "the one!’’
How did you accessorise your dress? Jewellery and shoe details? Were your shoes comfortable?
I got the Danú drop pearl earring from Rosie & Dott’s new Le Grá collection and for shoes I wore a very comfortable ASOS Design bow detail block heel, they were comfortable but not after 16 hours! My Friends got me a gorgeous Katie Loxton bag in pearlescent with my new married initials on it, mind you I didn’t see it the entire day.
Any underwear tips for our brides to be?
I got Spanx Thinstincts, I would recommend investing in ones that you are comfortable to sit, eat and dance in, I must say I didn’t even notice these on but still shaped and supported my body. Most definitely wear your specific underwear for dress fittings too so everything fits as it will on the day.
What was your overall wedding aesthetic/style?
The aesthetic of the day was elegant chic -I wanted the day to be classy and timeless.
Tell us about a special moment from the day?
One of our favourite moments from the day has to be our sunset shots, we had a few bottles of Moët from our engagement and proposed bringing out one to the golf course for a champagne spray! We thought it would be a bit of fun and turned out to be our favourite moments from the day and the photos are incredible!
If you could give brides-to-be one piece of solid advice?
I think one thing someone said to me beforehand was that you and your partner set the tone for the atmosphere of the wedding. I felt we had put a lot of time and money into planning the day and wanted to enjoy the day as much as any of our guests and it ended up being so relaxed and fun.
Who did your hair, make up and photography?
My hair was done by my gorgeous hairdresser Louise in Willow Waterford and for MUA, Lyndsey who also works there, two absolute dotes! Our Amazing photographer was David O’Sullivan, so many people have commented to us on
how amazing our highlight photos have been, and to say they exceeded our expectations would be a large understatement!
If you had bridesmaids where did you choose their dresses from?
We got our bridesmaid dresses in Memories Bridal in Cork, my two sisters wanted different styles but the same colour and I wanted them to be comfortable so was delighted when the Motee Maid dresses came in different necklines, sleeves and skirts, the girls then both went for the sage green colour and polka beading.
How did you find your experience at The White and Gold?
I’ve sent so many friends there since, telling them the experience is far superior to any other bridal shop I visited. I knew the minute I walked in it was my kinda style with the dried flowers and champagne coupés! The personalised greeting board too makes you feel so special, not to mind I adored each dress I tried on.
