The White & Gold Bride - Rebekah

Our hearts skipped a beat when we received pics of TW&G Bride Rebekah's wedding! Rebekah married her love on the 1st of June in Cortijo Rosa Blanca, near Marbella in Malaga, Spain. Rebekah wore the timeless Alexandra Grecco Forsythia dress.

We love your dress choice (obviously!) Was it the style you set out looking for or were you surprised with your choice?
Not at all! The dresses I liked online before I went shopping were a lot more detailed
with lace, embroidery and layers. Turns out that simple and structured was what felt and looked best on me and retrospectively, really represented my day-to-day style the best too.

When did you know it was the dress for you?
Forsythia was the second dress I tried on and I felt “at home” immediately. It instantly felt amazing to wear - the sleekness of the silk satin material and the support of the structured bodice really complemented my figure. I knew by my by bridesmaids’ reactions that it was a winner too! I followed conventional advice and visited another bridal store after that White and Gold trip in Kinsale, but nothing compared to it at all and I ordered Forsythia the following week!

Who did you bring to your bridal appointment? Did they help you decide on your dress?
My bridesmaids - my best friend and younger sister. They were great with giving advice, cheerleading me on but letting me lead with my own thoughts first.
They both had the same reaction to that Forsythia dress, it was the one that we all
instantly agreed that we loved and that seemed the most “me” of all the dresses I tried on. We also made a day of it in Kinsale, went to lunch etc. It was a lovely experience.

How did you accessorise your dress? Jewellery and shoe details? Were your
shoes comfortable?
The classic simplicity of the dress allowed me to have fun with some statement
accessorising. I’m a huge fan of pearl detail and incorporated that into my style with a Love Story Luz Veil that I picked up in W&G also and that had a beautiful floral and pearl detail, and a pair of Jimmy Choo Sacaria pearl block heels. I also wore a pair of Maison Sabben pearl drop earrings called “Rebbeka” (I got a kick out of the namesake earrings on my wedding day!) My shoes were surprisingly comfortable and I pretty much forgot I was wearing heels until it was time to hit the dance floor later in the evening.

Any underwear tips for our brides to be?
I went to Urata for tailoring and she recommended shape wear that would give me the perfect silhouette under the dress. She also sewed a bra into the bodice of the dress so I didn’t have to worry about that on the day. My advice would be to prioritise comfort and practicality on the day, make sure you’re wearing something you won’t have to think or worry about throughout the day.

What was your overall wedding aesthetic/style?
We got married in a traditional Spanish Cortijo or “farm house”, with an amazing
backdrop of the Andalucian mountains, so the venue did all the talking. It was all
landscaped gardens, rose and lilac bushes, pergolas, lots of greenery and we kept it simple with white and pink peonies, oversized bouquets and a pop of fuschia pink
throughout the venue. Simple and boho I would say!

Tell us about a special moment from the day?
Hard to narrow down to one moment! Walking down the winding stairs of the bridal suite in my dress to meet my Dad before the ceremony. It was a lot more emotional than either of us expected it to be. Myself and my husband also popped out mid dinner with the photographers to take some sunset shots with the backdrop of the Andalucian countryside behind us, which was a really special moment and a lovely retreat from the busy-ness of the wedding day for us both.

If you could give brides-to-be one piece of solid advice?
Don’t sweat the small stuff, things can and will go “wrong” and it’ll still be a perfect day. And delegate what you can! People are really there to help and support you, whether it’s your bridal party or your planner if you have one. Lean into the support and free yourself up to enjoy the day - it really does go so quickly.

How did you find your experience at The White and Gold?
Ideal and totally stress-free. Dress shopping can be nerve wracking but the second you walk in, you sort of relax because of the laidback vibes of the place and how luxurious and calming the aesthetic is in the boutique. Jen was also so friendly and
accommodating and easy to work with.

We loved our appointments with you, Rebekah. Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter and happiness from all at TW&G xx
